A Monthly Look Inside Aravilla Clearwater

Holidays and Celebrations!

In this month of March we have two holidays: St. Patrick’s Day and Easter! Interesting fact, Easter follows the lunar cycles of the Jewish calendar rather than Christmas, which is fixed to the solar calendar. Thus being why this year it falls in the month of March rather than April as usual.

On Sunday, March 17th, we will be having our St. Patrick’s Day celebration with cupcakes, drinks, and a special appearance from a lucky leprechaun at 3PM! We will also be hosting our Easter celebration which includes an Easter egg hunt, a special appearance from the Easter bunny and more on Sunday, March 31st at 3PM. Please be sure to check our activities calendar for this months special celebrations, birthday’s, live music performances, tournaments, and more!

St. Patrick’s Day Party!

2024 Putt Putt Golf Tournament

This month here at Aravilla, we will be hosting our 2nd annual Putt Putt Golf Tournament. Our competitive residents are pumped and eager to get this season started. Don’t be late! Our Putt Putt Golf Tournament games will be held in the Promenade every Wednesday at 1:45PM. During our weekly games our activities team will keep record of all points to be gathered and calculated at the end of the month. Special prizes will be given to our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Event begins March 6th at 1:45PM
Games held every Wednesday at 1:45PM
Event ends on March 20th at 1:45PM

2024 Cornhole Tournament Champions

Last month we hosted our 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament here at Aravilla Clearwater! Special shoutouts go to our champions for this months tournament; Joan H., Dot W., Luz V. Hosting tournaments for our residents improves coordination and skill development, increases confidence and self-esteem, enhances mental wellbeing, and encourages community connectedness and support.

Resident Spotlight Luis V. and Hilda Q.

We want to take a moment to recognize Luis V. & Hilda O. as a part of our Aravilla Family! Luis was born in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico in 1924 and Hilda was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico in 1929. They met in 1990 during a New Year’s Eve celebration at the Hotel of San Juan where they danced the night away. Luis and Hilda have been together for over 33 years! Hilda graduated high school early and got a jump start on her education. She earned her Masters degree in Bilingual Supervision and also earned her Doctor Education. She has two children who have kids of their own making her a very proud grandmother and even a great grandmother! Luis graduated high school and immediately got right to work. He worked as an industrial mechanic and mainly worked in a clothes factory for men. Luis was the first Puerto Rican who traveled to Germany to fix sewing machines! He has 3 children, who have kids of their own making him a very happy grandfather, and even a great-great-grandfather! Luis and Hilda both have a passion for music and dancing. They also both enjoy playing dominoes! Hilda loves to travel, and is very passionate about reading while Luis loves bowling and fishing. Together they make a very cute and happy couple! Be sure to stop by when you see the two dancing on the dance floor or playing dominoes in the Promenade. They are both friendly, outgoing, and gregarious. We are so very blessed to have Luis and Hilda here as a part of our Aravilla Family!
